...

"Because of you I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt.
Because of you I find it hard to trust not only me but everyone around me
Because of you I am afraid."

Supertramp owns. End of story.

"When I was young it seemed that life was so wonderful, a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical. And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily, oh joyfully, oh playfully, watching me. But then they sent me away to teach me how to be sensible, logical, oh responsible, practical. And then they showed me a world where I could be so dependable, oh clinical, oh intellectual, cynical.

There are times when all the world's asleep.

The questions run too deep for such a simple man.

Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned,

I know it sounds absurd, but please tell me who I am.

I said, watch what you say, they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical, criminal. Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're acceptable, respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable. Oh, take it take it take it, yeah!

But at night when all the world's asleep, the questions run so deep for such a simple man.

Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned,

I know it sounds absurd, but please tell me who I am.

Who I am, who I am, who I am...

But I am thinking so logical...

Did you call, one two three five...

Oh, it's getting unbelievable."

Avoiding Homework :)

"What you do speaks so loud I cannot hear what you say." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The less you know, the more you believe." -Bono

"Imperfect fact will always be more interesting than flawless fiction. We are addicted to blurry lines." -Chuck Klosterman

"We talked and talked and e-mailed and e-mailed and drank and drank and drank and she told me not to fall in love with her and I fell in love with her in something like 19 days." -Chuck Klosterman

"Death is a challenge. It tells us not to waste time... It tells us to tell each other right now that we love each other." -Leo Buscaglia

"It ain't easy growing up in World War III, never knowing what love could be. Well I've seen; I don't want love to destroy me like it did my family." -Pink

"Freedom lies at the heart of my willingness to lose everything." -Alanis Morissette

"You see everything, you see every part. You see all my light, and you love my dark. You dig everything of which I'm ashamed. There's not anything to which you can't relate... and you're still here." -Alanis Morissette

"It's like rain on your wedding day. It's a free ride when you've already paid. It's the good advice that you just didn't take. Who would've thought? It figures... Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you when you think everything's okay and everything's going right. And life has a funny way of helping you out when you think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up in your face." -Alanis Morissette

"I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower, makes you talk a little lower about the things you could not show her. And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself to hold on to these moments as they pass. And it's one more day up in the canyon, and it's one more night in Hollywood. It's been so long since I've seen the ocean... I guess I should." -Counting Crows

"Do you know what it's like to fall on the floor and cry your guts out 'til you got no more? Hey man, now you're really living. I just saw the sun rise over the hill, never used to give me much of a thrill. But hey man, now I'm really living." -Eels

"You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You'll never remember class time, but you'll remember time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So, stay out late. Go out on a Tuesday with your friends when you have a paper due Wednesday. Spend money you don't have. Drink 'til sunrise. The work never ends, but college does." -Tom Petty

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were all meant to shine as children do. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same, as we are liberated from our own fear. Our presence automatically liberates others." -Coach Carter

"Well that's what we do. We fight. You tell me when I'm being an arrogant son of a bitch and I tell you when you are being a pain in the ass, which you are 99% of the time. I'm not afraid to hurt your feelings. You have like a two second rebound rate and you're back to doing the next pain in the ass thing." -The Notebook

"I am nothing special, just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who's ever lived: I've loved another with all my heart and soul. And to me, this has always been enough." -The Notebook

"I wanted you to know that I love the way you laugh. I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away. I keep your photograph, and I know it serves me well. I wanna hold you high and steal your pain." -Seether

"I'm never gonna dance again. These guilty feet have got no rhythm. Though it's easy to pretend, I know you're not a fool. I should have known better than to cheat a friend and waste the chance that I've been given. So I'm never gonna dance again the way I danced with you." -George Michael

"Don't be afraid to be a fool. Remember, you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don’t learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying yes begins things. Saying yes is how things grow. Saying yes leads to knowledge. "Yes" is for young people. So for as long as you have the strength to, say yes." -Stephen Colbert

"So I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don’t have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them." -The Perks of Being A Wallflower
